Sunday 14th June 2026. 4.25 miles

Date: Sunday 14th June 2026 Time: 10.00 am – 12.45 am Location: The Chains, opposite The Londis, High St, Great Bedwyn SN8 3NU
From the centre of Bedwyn our guided Sunday morning walk set off in fine weather to walk through the peaceful woodland of the Brails. Orchids were flowering beside the path to Bedwyn Brail and, although ravens have been seen and heard in the trees of Wilton Brail, we didn’t see any on our walk
Our 15 walkers enjoyed a short refreshment stop on the benches at the Bedwyn Brail viewpoint by the wooden sculptures. Another walker had already left us at an earlier point for a lift home when we crossed the road.
No stiles, a couple of long steady inclines & one quite steep one in Wilton Brail which has a helpful bench at the top from where there is a distant view of Tottenham House, currently under restoration.
Ticks are active in the area. Check here for how to protect yourself and what to do if bitten:
The café at the recreation ground, Bedwyn Baristas, reopened recently and is now open Thurs-Sundays serving hot and cold drinks, paninis, cakes & ice cream. Our walk route ended close to the café so we popped in there for refreshment sitting outside in the sunshine.
